I was thinking about posting an ad to make some custom jewelry for my girlfriend, (her birthday is coming up) and I was thinking about creating a ring. What kind of text should I throw on there? I'm going to put on our anniversary, but what else should I throw on there?

Maybe put in a slot for a precious stone? How much are you looking to spend?

I know this is very old, and the birthday this was meant for long gone, but I think it would be amazing to have a ting like this with a link to a geocache hunt on it. www.geocaching.com/ - It could lead to the container being in a special place for the night (or clues to get to it) and filled with things that are favorites or bring up memories. It could be private until after the night. Then, the couple could leave some of the items for the next people and photos or links to photos from the night or their life. They could encourage other people finding the geocache box to do the same, and come back every year to see what the year of shared memories has taken from and brought to the box.

They could also design one thing every year to put in the box together, put a geocache bug code on the bottom of it and see where it ends up.

Interesting idea for the geocache. I created an email ring concept. Basically 3d text emails wrapped around a band. Kind of a neat gift.

I think that would be - very personalized (although mine can get so wordy they would basically be all bumps or else have to be of the huge, articulated ring type ; - )) - and much better than a twitter or FB ring, as those feeds are often filled with updates like this: aculei.net/~shardy/hacklabtoilet/

I wonder if there might be any way to make a bracelet with a space for a small led strip plus wifi chip and something like a kinetic energy converter or simply a button battery that you could msg to, with the msg changing whenever the bracelent gets within range of a network - regular little messages of happy.
